I sometimes struggle when it comes to winter dressing, it's cold, I'm a creature of comfort, and not that I'm usually a follower of trends, but all fashion usually goes out of the window. This year, I have tried to mix things up a little when it comes to my Winter wardrobe, and I'm pretty happy with the outfits that I tend to be wearing at the moment. Although the snow last weekend, did suddenly throw me out, and I've been struggling with footwear because it's so BLIMMIN ICY out there. Jesus Christ, the amount of times that I have almost fell on my arse is too many to count!
Anyways, although I've done a Christmas Day outfit ideas post already, I thought I'd share some of my current go to winter outfits and hopefully they aren't too yawn!
1. Jumper and Jeans
Outfit Details :
Jumper : River Island
Jeans : River Island
Boots : River Island
Coat : River Island
Belt : River Island
Okay so you can't go wrong with a jumper and jeans combo right? My motto is; if in doubt, stick on a jumper and jeans. It never fails me.
Anyways, this year, I have been living for chunky knits (I'm always cold) and jeans and boots. I do need to get some more non ripped jeans though, I do curse myself for only buying ripped jeans when December rolls round! My knees are not happy bunnies.
I also find that accessorising with a nice belt and boots always helps to make this kind of outfit a bit more interesting. I live in my double buckle River Island belt (it's as close to a Gucci Belt as I'll probably get) and I do love a good black suede pair of Chelsea Boots, they always make me feel a bit more sophisticated.
My coat is from River Island and I love this whole aviator coat trend, mainly because they are so cosy!

2. High Neck Top & Skirt
Outfit Details :
Jacket: Zara
Top: Primark
Skirt : Missguided
Boots : Public Desire (Use CORRIE15 For 15% discount!)
I think it's a cute outfit (if I say so myself) and so easy to wear for different occasions.

3. Pinafore
Outfit Details :
Pinafore : Topshop
Jumper : Boohoo
Boots : Public Desire (Use CORRIE15 for 15% discount!)
I am loving pinafores again, yes they slightly make me feel like it's 1996 and I'm 5 again, but I can't stop buying them. I treated myself to this velvet one from Topshop when I was feeling V generous to myself and I'm quite glad I did. I think this could be a contender for my Christmas Day outfit.

4. The Pink Coat

Outfit Details :
Coat : H&M
Coat : H&M
Scarf: H&M
Hat : New Look
Jumper : Primark
Jeans : Next
Again a bit of a Blair inspired purchase but also I've wanted a pink coat for so long. I love this one from H&M, it was a bargain at £30 and it's quite warm. I love the gold buttons too!
I tend to wear this with a cream jumper as I love how the colours mix, this is my slightly smarter coat as it's a little dressier!

I hope you've enjoyed this post and let me know if you'd like to see more outfit posts in the future!

Does anyone else get extremely stressed about what to wear on Christmas Day? Or is that just me?
I always seem to think that I need something new and nice to wear on the 25th December, even though Christmas Day is usually spent inside the house, cooking dinner, eating dinner, playing games and napping! But every year, I find myself on Christmas morning, getting annoyed at myself for not buying a new outfit as my current wardrobe is never good enough.
I have no idea why I do this every year, but I do.
Anyways, this year, I'm stopping this, as I've been a prepared Patricia and have not one, but two Christmas day outfit options. So today, I thought I'd share some Christmas Day potential outfit options with you guys, just in case like me, you like having something new to wear on Christmas Day.
I've made up three outfits that I love and would wear, and then there's more options down below!
Outfit 1 : The outfit in the first pic
Pinafore ( I have the black version of this, which is one of my Christmas Day options) : Topshop
Cream/White Roll Neck : River Island
Boots: Topshop
Lipstick: Charlotte Tilbury
Bag: Mango
Outfit 2 :
Jacket : River Island
Top: Topshop
Skirt : River Island
Boots: Public Desire (use CORRIE15 for 15% off)
Outfit 3 :
Jumper : River Island
Jeans : River Island
Boots : Topshop
Belt : River Island
What will you be wearing on Christmas Day? ( I hope that didn't come across as one of those creepy lines like 'so what are you wearing?' Okay this post has taken a weird turn, I'm going now. See you tomorrow!)

So maybe it's because I'm a 90s kid, but I am loving all the 90s clothes that seem to have come back into fashion recently. This Autumn/Winter I have decided to well and truly embrace the 90s with my wardrobe. This outfit is one of my faves atm and is something that even though, isn't groundbreaking or anything like that, it's still a little out of my comfort zone.
For the past couple of years, I've let myself get into a bit of a style rut, jeans and jumpers have been my uniform, I seem to have forgotten to how put things together or had any desire for clothes. Which has been great for my bank balance but I did miss dressing up. However, over the past few months, I feel like Cheryl in a 2009 hair advert 'I've got my mojo back' and I want to start trying out different things again and god forbid venturing out from jumpers and jeans!
Outfit Details :
Top: Primark
Skirt: Primark
Shoes : Primark
I got this skirt from Primark, and I saw it and was like 'hmm I like it, but would I wear it?' It was £8, yes £8 and I thought I'm going to try this and I'm really glad I did. I feel a bit like a table cloth, buttt I really like this look.
Also obsessed with these boots from Primark too!
It's giving me Clueless/90s vibes and a Clueless inspired outfit is always a winner with me! I've also just seen on Primark's website that there's a grey and pink version too- need!
So just a quick little outfit post from me today, but I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing this skirt a lot! I'd love to know if you're embracing the 90s trend?

A very well known fact is that I am not a cool person. I always aspire to be one of those cool girls like you see on Instagram and Pinterest, you know the type that look like they've just rolled out of bed and are effortlessly cool and stylish. Yeah that's not me. I fall over my own feet, I'm constantly shiny and well yeah, just not overly cool. But that's okay, because I've found a jacket that makes me feel about 100x cooler than what I actually am, and its from good old Primark. I know right?
I sometimes struggle with Autumn/Winter dressing, because you know it's cold outside, and I'm a creature of comfort, I hate being cold, or my feet hurting, so I tend to keep things safe with jumpers and jeans. However I did decide this year that I want to try and experiment a little more, and although this outfit isn't groundbreaking or necessarily stylish, this studded leather jacket is a little out of my comfort zone.
£40 for a jacket isn't much in somewhere like Topshop or Zara but £40 is a lot for Primark, however this is incredibly well made, and feels better quality than my Zara leather jacket, but I won't lie, it did feel weirdly wrong to spend so much on one thing in Primark!
Like I said, I am not sure if this does suit me, but I'm gonna roll with it, I've paired it with an all Primark outfit, the jeans were just £9 ( and give Topshop's Joni Jeans a run for their money) a £6 pink jumper and some £12 boots, seriously you can't beat Primark!
So I wanted to check in as I'm sure this will be one of those outfits that I'll be wearing a lot over the next few months and like I said in my denim skirt post, I wanted to start showing you what outfits I really wear and love, so here we go.
I would love to know if you have an item of clothing that makes you feel a lot cooler, and anyways if you're uncool like me, I'm pretty sure that being cool is over rated ;)
Right I'm gonna go and grab some breakfast! Speak soon! x
However basic it might sound, I have always wanted my own pair of the satin Victoria's Secret pink striped pyjamas. I was gutted when I visited NYC, to find they had no satin pairs left, and I've struggled to part with £70 when I've spotted them in UK stores. I mean yes they're beautiful, but £70 for pyjamas? As much as I wish I was, I'm not Blair Waldorf.
Anyways, if like me, you refuse to pay £70 for a pair of pyjamas, but still wish you had a pair of pink striped pyjamas in your collection, then listen up cause I've found a pair that are almost identical to the VS ones buttt and there's a big but, these are only £10. That's right, ten English pounds.
Okay, so let me fill you in. I found these pink striped short satin pjs in Primark, yep that's right Primark. I have a feeling they're probably going to sell out pretty fast, I could only find a couple of pairs in the Manchester store, and I've seen none in my local store, but hopefully there's still some around, as you guys need these.
They're really comfy, look amazing, and I can't get over how cheap they were. They make me feel like Kate Middleton/ Blair Waldorf, and I really am obsessed.
I just had to share them with you, as I know that you guys appreciate a good set of pyjamas as much as I do!
So I hope you manage to track down a set for yourself, and let me know if you know of any other VS dupes anywhere. I also picked up a black nightshirt the other week from Primark too, which is very VS! Hey who needs Victoria's Secret when you have Primark eh?
Anyways, today's post was just a quick little one to tell you about my recent fave Primark find. I'm gonna go now, speak soon! x
Hey you guys,
Hope you've all had a good week, today I want to kick off some new style posts which hopefully you'll like, and we're going to start with 'Three Ways To Style A Denim Skirt' and you may be thinking 'hardly rocket science'- I know. But I've always loved simple dressing, and when I was thinking the other week about what to blog about, I thought about what I'd like to read on someone's blog, and this kind of guide to dressing simple is what I'd like to see. I'm not a cool person or someone who has a huge disposable income (yay for planning a wedding) so I keep things on a budget, and try to buy things that I know I'll get a lot of wear out of.
I know, I am literally like a Grandma. I even question 'how will this item wash' when I buy things so I am officially 86.
Anyways, I've always loved doing outfit posts, but I lost my confidence a little when someone commented on an outfit post saying 'I love you Corrie but'- (whenever there's a I love you but... you know it's going to be bad) 'your outfit posts are always the same. It's really boring.' I guess it struck a nerve, because I know my outfits are pretty boring, and I'm not one of those cool fashion bloggers, but recently I thought to myself- that's okay.
We're all different, and whether you can pull off amazing fashion, or can afford high end pieces that's great, but it's also okay if you can't. So I know, I'm totally rambling and going off topic as usual, but I thought I'd start an almost series of posts where I feature my most worn items and how I style them.
I'm thinking things such as my ripped jeans, my vans, my leather jacket, etc... you never know it might give you some outfit inspo, but I want my blog to be real, and feature the stuff I love and do actually wear, so why not feature the items that I wear all the time, regardless of how boring they are.
So I hope those 5 paragraphs made sense, and hopefully you guys like these posts.
Okay so enough waffling on, today I wanted to kick things off with one of my most worn items this Summer- the humble denim skirt. I wanted to show three ways that I've been wearing it, and thought I'd try and make the most of it before Autumn officially arrives.
The Denim Skirt
So I have been living in two denim skirts, a blue denim one from Primark and then this one from Miss Selfridge which I love. It fits so well, and will even last through A/W as well, as I imagine this will look great with tights and boots! So let's see what I've been wearing with this skirt...
1. The Sweatshirt

2. The Band Tee
Looking back on these photos, I am not sure if I am cool enough for the band tee look, as hard as I try haha. Anyways, whether it's a band tee or just a simple tee, it makes a pretty easy but fail safe outfit. Pair with a belt and you are good to go.

3. The Coloured Jacket

Let me know how you style up denim skirts, and if there's any other things you'd like to see me style on my blog soon!
But for now, I need to go get ready for the gym, speak soon! :)
I wouldn’t exactly call myself an experimental dresser, I mean, I was when I was younger. I’d happily try out new colours, prints, or styles, but after realising that I constantly had a wardrobe full of things I never wore, and losing a bit of confidence with myself and my body, I started to make my wardrobe more ‘safe.’ In came the neutrals, things that went with everything, and for the last couple of summers, I basically wore what I wore all winter, just minus the jumpers. I’d dread hot sunny days, cause I’d have to get my legs out, and I just had no passion for clothes anymore.
Over the past few months, I’ve found myself becoming more confident within myself again, it’s definitely for a few reasons, of course, going to the gym has been a huge confidence boost for me, and has helped to give me back my body confidence. I’m also a big believer (and you guys will well know this already if you’ve read my blog for a while) that a tan fixes everything.
We’ve all seen that meme about Thursday night tanning, when we feel we go to a solid 10 out 10’s with a tan. There’s something about a tan that just makes me feel better within myself, I feel like I look more like me, my clothes look better, and it’s something so small, but makes a huge difference to how I feel.
Because I live in the UK and sunny days are few and far between, I usually turn to fake tan to get a bronzed glow. However, I’ve recently been trying the new Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Shimmer Gradual Tan which has been giving me major throwback vibes to my youth as a teen, when I used to use gradual tanner all the time when I was at school.
However, I can confirm 100% that the new Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Shimmer, is a million miles away from the biscuit smelling streaky gradual tanners that we all used when we were 15 (it now smells citrusy and fruity-yaaas!) It’s been great for either using in the evenings as fake tan is way too sticky to apply on an hot evening (though we haven’t had many of those lately!) Also the clever gradual tanner means that you can apply during the day too, so I’ve been doing this as the shimmer means that I can enjoy being glowy all day, and no one would ever know that you’ve got gradual tan on. I tend to apply it in the morning after I’ve showered, let it sink in for a couple of mins before getting dressed.
It moisturises the skin, whist gently building a natural looking tan, and also gives you a slight glow thanks to a touch of shimmer. Thanks to it’s cell moisturisers and the range having one of the highest level of glycerin found on the high street, your skin will be super soft and also the formula helps to minimise streaks too!
You will feel like a bronzed goddess, I’m not even joking. I’ve been applying the Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Shimmer, a few times a week to keep my Orlando tan in tact, and I am loving how it makes my skin feel.
I feel like this summer is the first summer in years, that I’ve felt really confident within myself and actually enjoyed wearing different things. Today, I thought I’d share my three Summer Wardrobe Faves and what I’ve had the confidence to wear this summer. So let’s get started :
Shorts:
Over the past few years, I have avoided shorts left right and centre. Seriously though, why is it so hard to find a decent pair? I always found they were too short, or too tight, and just unflattering, I’d go short shopping and usually end up in tears. Considering I used to live in shorts when I was 18/19, I hated that I had lost all confidence to wear them.
However, this year, I found a pretty perfect pair from H&M which reminded me of some vintage Levi’s (without the price tag of course!) and I love them! The fit is perfect, I love how they look with different tops, and for a past short hater, I have to admit, I’m back to being a fan.
My fave tops to wear with shorts are either; a Bardot top, a basic tee, or blouse, I love the contrast of dressed up/dressed down. I also love how you can dress them up with wedges, or boots, and down with converse or trainers. Maybe I was a bit hasty with my hatred for shorts, it’s all about finding that perfect pair that make you feel good. Also my legs being tanned and glowy obviously helps things as well!
Playsuits:

No I’m just joking, but it’s been nice to try different colours, just last week, I bought a red jumper for A/W, so I’m keen to keep experimenting with colours. Although the colour black will always have my heart, it’s nice to have the confidence to try out different things.
I would definitely say that my confidence this summer with my wardrobe and within myself has been because of the gym and having a tan. I’ve felt the happiest, I’ve felt in a while within myself, and I’ve been so excited about shopping and trying new things. I hope it continues for A/W, and I don’t just live in jumpers and black jeans again.

I’d love to know what makes you feel confident, is it a tan like me? Or does the sunny weather just instantly give you a spring in your step?
