I am so glad that Autumn is here. I never thought I would say this, but Autumn is probably my favourite season now. I'm a bit of a home bird, and it's just so cosy and snuggly, that I can't help but indulge in nights in at home. Of course, there are more things to Autumn, and as I write this, the rain is hammering on the window, I've got the lamp on and Frank is snuggled into my lap. I do not missing sitting us both by a fan in an attempt to cool us down... so here we have a few fave things about Autumn. Now where's that Pumpkin Spiced Latte * nah I'm just kidding, I've never tried one*
- Cosy, snuggly duvet days. When the rain is hammering down, you can't help but not feel guilty to stay in and lounge all day. Grab your duvet and Netflix and stay put all day.
- All the hot drinks. Lattes, Hot chocolates, chai tea's.... in fact it almost doesn't make me miss iced coffee's.
- You're able to walk places without getting all clammy and sweaty.
- You don't have to worry about your make up melting off your face.
- Extra deodorant isn't an essential in your handbag anymore.
- A/W clothes- jackets, jeans, boots, tights, high neck tops, scarves, coats, hats- I need I go on?
- Candles. All the candles.
- Comfort food, cause eating a salad in the cooler weather is almost a crime.
- Cosy night in TV- Bake Off, X Factor, etc... also saves you money too.
- Halloween. Just Halloween.
- Going for Autumnal walks, the colours of the leaves, stamping on acorns, picking up conkers- yes I am still 5.
- Dark nail colours berry, navy, greige... hmmm mmm
- Berry coloured lipstick. Every year I try to pull it off.. every year I fail.
- The fact that it's almost Christmas - WHICH IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR. YES.
Of course not all of Autumn is all smiles, lets talk colder weather, darker nights and windy days, of course but it's just so snuggly!!!
What's your favourite things about Autumn?

A little while ago, I was contacted by Pose and was asked if I'd like to create a series of videos for them on their YouTube channel. Jumping at the opportunity, I created 8 videos for their website and channel about Autumn/Winter beauty. I covered a range of subjects from my favourite brushes, to A/W lip colours! Now that all 8 videos have been published on their channel, I thought I'd just let you all know about them in case you'd like a little watch :)
You can watch the rest of the videos here :) hope you like them! x
So seeing as it's now October and I went and bought tights the other day. Autumn is officially here. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty happy as I always love A/W clothing and this year I have not held back with buying a few new additions to my wardrobe #whoops. With this in mind, not only am I digging out my boots and scarves but some of my beauty routine has changed too. Especially when it comes to my nails. Throughout spring and Summer, I wore pastels and neon's on my nails, but that seems a bit wrong when it's blowing a gale outside and raining a monsoon.
With this in mind, my nail collection has taken a u-turn and long gone as the mint candy apples and baby pinks, and in their place are moody greys, and blackcurrant purples. I've been loving nail polishes from a variety of brands this season so far, from Barry M's new additions to their Gelly and Nail Paint line up, with Nightshade a dark moody purple, and Chai a cool toned grey, have been perfect for autumnal colours but on a budget. Cocoa is a rich, warm brown that will be perfect for around bonfire night. It will look perfect on your nails whilst your hands are wrapped around a mug of hot chocolate. What I will say is, invest in a good top coat as these chip quite easily! I've also been loving this shade by Mavala, who's nail polish I've never actually used before but comes in the most dinky bottles. I like to hold them and pretend I'm a giant. Ha you'd never know I was 23 would you? Montevideo is a raspberry red that I actually have on my nails right now and is one of those shades that doesn't look much in the bottle but once applied is actually really flattering and perfect for autumn!
These are the shades I'll be using on rotation throughout out Autumn/Winter but I'm sure there may be a few new additions added not before too long! What's your favourite Autumn/Winter nail shade?
I do always love the start of autumn. I always do a bit of a sigh of relief that
summer has come to an end and I can dig out the fleecy pjs, and start feeling its
okay to stay in on a Saturday for a cosy night. Of course like the start of
summer, a beauty shake up happens when the leaves start to fall. I always get a
few new products, to just prep my way into autumn. Body, nails and hair, they
all need the Autumn Beauty Shake Up.
With my summer tan fading, it’s time to dig out the fake tan
and start the prep for fake tan. My skin always feels a bit dry after a summer
of sunbathing, so I dig out one of my favourite exfoliators, Soap and Glory’sBreakfast Scrub* not only does it smell good enough to eat ( believe me I have
been tempted) but it also buffs away any dead, dull skin ready for me to slather
on the tan. My tan of choice is Xen Tan’s Moroccan Tan, a tan I discovered last
year and have loved it ever since. It smells of coconut people! It’s also
really dark, lasts a good week and looks natural! I picked mine up in the Feel
Unique summer sale, but at £19.99 normal price, it’s a pretty good price for
one of the best fake tans around.
For my face I have been trying out the Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanner for the face, I got this for my birthday and seeing as this summer was surprisingly sunny, I haven't needed it till now. It's great for smoothing out pores and lines but gives you a caramel hue to your face. Great for adding some much needed colour in these dreary autumn mornings. To keep my tan even longer than the usual five days you get with Xen Tan, I have been using a moisturiser twice a day. The autumn always leaves my skin a bit thirsty so a good moisturiser such as this Nivea Soft* moisturiser I have been using, has been great for leaving my skin feeling soft and making sure my tan stays.
So that’s me all prepped for autumn, tan topped up, glossy
locks and berry nails, my autumn beauty shake up is complete. How do you
prepare for the changing seasons?

With my summer tan revamped *cough cough* I move onto hair.
My hair always feels frazzled after the summer, it hates holidays, sea water
and sun are not BFF’s with my hair. So I always go into autumn ready for some
deep conditioning. My hair always goes really light in the summer, so with
Autumn approaching I always get a semi-permanent rich brown hair dye to put on
to darken it a little and added some much needed gloss. I like using a semi-permanent
dye as it’s not harmful to your hair and adds a boost and lift to your hair. I
like the L’Oreal Casting Crème gloss dyes as they always leave your hair nice
and shiny.
Of course it wouldn’t be an autumn beauty shake up without
adding a bit of autumnal colour would it? I always like to buy a new autumnal
nail polish around this time of year, I got a Topshop one called Bomber as I’ve never tried a
topshop nail polish before, and I thought the colour was really rich and deep.
The colour lasted on my nails for about three/four days without chips so that
was pretty good going!
I've recently had a bit of a beauty shake up *post coming soon* and my make up has definitely been shaken up too! Anyways I've been using some new products to help change my make up from bronzed and peachy summer make up to bronzed and smokey autumn make up. Yes that's right I'm not giving up the bronzer anytime soon. A few new drugstore items have been added, including the new Bourjous Happy Light foundation, I picked this up when it had it's introductory offer on. The colours are a bit of a miss, I have the shade 51 and it's a bit pink for me. But the coverage is light/medium and is nice lightweight glowy drugstore foundation.
I've also been changing it up with my eyeshadows, I know, I know hold the phone. I've been adding a bit of colour. Hold on to your hats people. I bought the Maybelline colour tattoo in Pomegranate which is a plum/bronze shade which is so pretty and stays all day (and night). I've also caved in and bought the cult Autumn shade Cranberry. I know I'm a sucker. These mixed with one of Bourjois's Colour Edition 24 hour shadows, 02 is a gorgeous pale gold that goes with these two shadows perfectly. They all create a gorgeous autumn smokey eye.
Of course I always team my make up with big hair and my enrapture rollers are always invited to the party. To see my current hair and make up routine in action, you can watch the video above if you stay to the end you can see a little appearance from Frankie. He's currently cuddled up on me bless him. So I hope you're all good, is there any other Autumn make up items I need?
